Are you stuck in a rut with your ideas and never quite seem to get them out? Do you feel like you’re not doing enough in terms of knowing more about writing? If so, read books on writing, study writers like Hemingway and Fitzgerald, and practice your craft regularly-then you can improve your skills and become a better writer.

Here are the top four books to help you write clearly, concisely, and creatively.

#1: The Art of Writing — Peter Yang

I’m always a sucker for a book that tells me what I already know but can be better. The Art of Writing is the perfect example. It covers everything from narration and description to dialogue and the structure of your story.

#2: Nobody Wants To Read Your Sh*t — Steven Pressfield

If you’re looking for some inspiration on how to write in a way that will grab readers, this book is for you. It talks about the different types of stories and how to tell them in a compelling way.

#3: On Writing Well — Ernest Hemingway

This is one of my favorite books because it’s so practical and easy to follow. Most of us want to write like Ernest Hemingway, but we don’t know how! This book shows how he did it and makes it easy for any writer to start writing like him.

#4: On Writing: A Memoir Of The Craft — Stephen King

This book was written by none other than Stephen King! He goes through each step of his writing process and explains what works for him as well as what doesn’t work so well.

Stephen King said: “I don’t think there is any such thing as ‘just writing.’ You have got to keep working at it. That’s what makes all the difference between an occasional writer and a professional one.”

Stephen King also shared this advice: “You’re going to be your own worst critic. You’re going to be your own worst editor.”

Wrapping Up!

These books, combined with a constant and continuing devotion to improving your own writing skills, will ensure that the next time you approach a sentence, you will do so with greater confidence. And, who knows? You may very well end up enjoying the process along the way.
